Tour description

Apeaceful,three-dayalpinehike in the Verwall Mountainsfeaturing impressive high plateaus, secluded valleys, and two very different mountain huts. The tour combines staffed alpine huts with a self-catering hut and offers several scenic descent routes into the Klostertal Valley. Good physical condition, sure-footedness, and alpine experience are required.

Stage 1:
Starting fromLangen am Arlberg, the trail first leads along alpine and forest paths tothe Bludenzer Alpe. The ascent is steady through alpine pastures and open mountain terrain. The route then continues toward the Verwall main ridge, where the trail becomes increasingly alpine. After a final ascent, you reach theKaltenberg Hut (2,089 m), situated in a scenic location, which is an ideal spot for a break andovernight stay.

Stage 2:
From the Kaltenberg Hut, the route leads through the high-alpine, expansive terrain of the Verwall Mountains. The trail winds over gentle ridges, alpine meadows, and small hollows, conveying a sense of great seclusion. After several moderate ascents and descents, you reach theNeue Reutlinger Hut (2,128 m).

TheNeue Reutlinger Hut is strictly a self-catering hut.Reservations are mandatoryand must be made via the DAV Reutlingen website. Additionally, akey reservationis required, which can be made either at theAlpine Club regional officeor atKlostertal Tourism, Klösterle office, for a deposit fee.

Stage 3:
On the final day, there are two equally good descent options to choose from. Either the route leads over theSatteinser Alpe, past alpine pastures and through open mountain terrain, or you can choose the descent through theNenzigast Valley andpasttheAlpe Nenzigast,amountainhut thatcaptivates with its wild, unspoiled landscape. Both routes eventually lead down into the valley toKlösterle, where the three-day tour ends.
