3-Day Verwall Tour (Stage 1) | Langen am Arlberg
A peaceful, three-day alpine hike in the Verwall Mountains, featuring high plateaus and secluded valleys, connecting mountain pastures with a self-catering hut; this hike requires good physical fitness, sure-footedness, and alpine experience.
Tour description
Starting inLangen am Arlberg, the trail first leads along alpine and forest paths tothe Bludenzer Alpe. The ascent is gentle, winding through alpine pastures and open mountain terrain. The trail then continues toward the Verwall main ridge, where the terrain becomes increasingly alpine. After a final ascent, you reach theKaltenberg Hütte (2,089 m), which offers stunning views and is the perfect spot for a break orovernight stay.

Day 1: Langen am Arlberg – Bludenzer Alpe – Kaltenberg Hut
Day 2: Kaltenberg Hut – Neue Reutlinger Hut
Day 3: Neue Reutlinger Hut – Satteinser Alpe or Nenzigasttal – Klösterle
Equipment
Sturdy footwear, warm clothing, rain and sun protection, a snack, a filled water bottle, and hiking poles are recommended. Additionally, bring gear for an overnight stay in a mountain hut. A cell phone for emergencies.
