The Krone Inn, which is over 200 years old, was once a semi-detached house with two taverns and a large farm, and over time it evolved into a central social gathering place.

According to local oral tradition, the large building that houses the Krone Inn once housed two inns. The inn is more than 200 years old; it is mentioned in various sources as early as 1800. It was also once home to a significant farming operation. The“Kronenbündten”encompassed large tracts of land on both sides of the road. Alongside the Post Inn, the Krone was for a long time an important social gathering place, not least for the Dalaas clubs. For example, theatrical performances were held here during the interwar period.

In the Bavarian land registry of 1808, the building is listed as a double house that belonged to the Berthold family. The original map from 1857 still shows two buildings, both of which were owned by Hieronymus Strolz. The eastern part is identified as an inn. A few decades later, Ferdinand and Benedikta Burtscher acquired the “Krone” along with the large farm. As a veteran of the Sardinian War of 1859, Burtscher had been appointed roadmaster in the Klostertal valley. Today, the inn is owned by the fourth generation of the family.
