Stage 2 of the 3-day tour in the Großes Walsertal Biosphere Reserve with overnight stay at the Freiburger Hütte
Tour description
On the second day, the trail leads along the E4 via the Östlicher Johanniskopf (2,508 m) and the Obere Johannisjoch (2,037 m) past the Formarinalpe (managed: mid-June to early Sept.) to the Freiburger Hütte, the second overnight accommodation.
Note: The times indicated are approximate. Depending on fitness level, weather conditions, or other factors, the walking time may be shorter or longer.

Equipment
Sturdy footwear, warm clothing, rain and sun protection, a snack, a full water bottle and hiking poles are recommended. Additional equipment for an overnight stay in a refuge. Cell phone for emergencies.

Landbus L570 to stop Sonntag Seilbahn Stein, change and continue with call bus L571 to stop Buchboden Kirche

We recommend surefootedness, a head for heights and alpine experience. The daily stages can be divided up according to the weather and requirements.
A hiking map is recommended for better orientation on site. The special edition of the hiking map Holiday in the Großes Walsertal Biosphere Reserve at a scale of 1:35,000 is available from Raggal Tourismus and at biosphärenpark.haus.
