Bad Rothenbrunnen | Sonntag-Buchboden

From Buchboden, the trail descends a few metres in altitude to the Lutzbach stream. Here the hiking trail now leads along the stream into the valley. Pass the first car park and continue along the Lutz to the hikers' car park, where the Madonnabach flows into the Lutz. Here you turn right and follow the hiking trail to Bad Rothenbrunnen on a slight incline. The hiking trail is also possible with prams. On the way back, you can take the other path (gravel road) to the first car park and then hike back along the same path in the direction of Buchboden.

You can also shorten the tour and hike directly from the hikers' car park to the Bad Rothenbrunnen Alpine Inn in about 10 minutes.

The Alpengasthof Bad Rothenbrunnen is the ideal starting point for numerous walks, easy hikes or more difficult mountain tours. For example, the short hike up to the pristine Gadenalpe at 1,317 m above sea level, which lies in a breathtaking basin below the Gadner and Diesner Gschröfs, is quite enchanting.

Author's recommendation

The Bad Rothenbrunnen inn, an old spa house built in 1834, with its garden, a small chapel and a fountain, is a place where time seems to have simply stopped. Once upon a time, thanks to the ferruginous, reddish-colored water of the Matona stream, whose source can be visited very close to the inn, people were busy "kurturing" here. The inn is the starting and ending point for a variety of larger and smaller hikes.

Equipment
