Cycling and mountain biking in Vorarlberg
Easy cycle paths and demanding mountain-bike routes over 300 kilometers
Easy cycle paths and demanding mountain-bike routes (300 km) invite cyclists to discover nature and landscape, to master tricky trails, to challenge the body or simply to enjoy the ride. Over hill and dale, through valley and forest, up mountain and summit!
The majority of mountain-bike trails, of all difficulty ratings and at every height, can be accessed with ease via the cycle path in the valley. Chalets and Alps with hospitality offerings along the routes invite cyclists to take a break and enjoy some refreshments.
A sporting challenge is the Alpencross-Transalp route from Oberstdorf to Lake Garda: Day 2 runs through the Klostertal. From the Freiburger Hütte (1918m), which transforms into a biker mountain on certain days, the route follows a tricky forest trail to Dalaas (830m) and then on via the Kristbergsattel (1486m) to the Heilbronner Hütte at 2320m, the border between Vorarlberg and the Tyrol. Length: 40.6 km; altitude variation: 2200m
