Summer holidays in the South of Vorarlberg

Summer vacation in Brandnertal, Klostertal, Biosphärenpark Großes Walsertal und in der Alpenstadt Bludenz

Three striking Alpine valleys, Brandnertal, Klostertal and Grosses Walsertal, and the alpine town of Bludenz make for the charms of this holiday region. 800 km of hiking trails, 300 km of mountain bike routes, two 18-hole golf courses, horse-back riding, archery. For families: supervised activities for children during the summer in the Brandnertal, Sonnenkopf Bear Land, chocolate festival in Bludenz.
"Enjoying nature without spoiling it" is the motto in the Biosphärenpark Großes Walsertal.

Brandnertal with the villages of Brand, Bürserberg and Bürs begins close by the alpine town of Bludenz in southern Vorarlberg. Mountains, glaciers, forests, mountain lakes and rivers characterise the landscape and people here in a very special way. Lünersee lake, at the end of the valley 1979 m above sea level, and at the foot of the Schesaplana - at 2.965 m the highest peak in the Rätikon - is a well-known excursion destination and a walker's paradise.

Sporting diversions
are offered by 400 km of trails – guided walks, climbing gardens, two new and comfortable cable cars take the visitor directly to the heart of walker's paradise – 110 km of mountain-biking trails, parts of which are highly challenging, an 18-hole golf course, tennis and indoor courts, riding halls and stables, three 3D archery courses, and much more besides.

Exceptional for families
An excellent selection of options for families, family-friendly hosts (so-called "Family friends") and the free, supervised children's summer programme guarantee adventure, fun and games, and a relaxing holiday for parents too.

Klostertal with its holiday villages of Dalaas/Wald am Arlberg and Braz lies between the alpine town of Bludenz and the renowned skiing region of Arlberg. Warm hospitality is a time-honoured tradition here. It reaches right back to the Romantic period of postal carriage tourism. In Bärenland [Bear Land] on the family and fun mountain Sonnenkopf, families and little adventurers discover a whole wealth of amusement and entertainment. Walkers and mountain bikers are also well at home here. The 18-hole golf course Bludenz-Braz, with its magical alpine backdrop is a challenge for every golfer.

Grosses Walsertal Biosphere Park

"Making use of nature without causing harm"
This is the philosophy of the Biosphärenpark Groses Walsertal. Biosphere parks are model sites which strive for sustainable development and, in various corners of the world, seek regional answers to the following question: how can we create a balanced relationship between protection of the natural environment and the needs of man?

Discover this natural valley, left untouched with its Alps and mountain peaks, steep gorges, many roaring streams, waterfalls and the clear waters of the Seewald lake. 250 km of sign-posted hiking paths and special educational paths invite visitors to discovery journeys rich in new experiences. Issue forth on the flower educational path, the forest educational path and on guided tours in the nature reserve of Gadental, where the rich variety of orchids within a unique Alpine landscape will inspire you. Specially-trained Adventure Biosphere Reserve supervisors show groups how to learn from and with nature using hands-on methods.

Alpine town of Bludenz

The centre of 5 valleys - a classic holiday region. This is where mountains, nature and urban culture go hand-in-hand. Traditional hospitality, historic charm and a southern flair are what make Bludenz. In the traffic-free town, beneath the arbours, shopping and browsing are a real pleasure.
The Muttersberg, a sunny balcony situated at 1401m and just a few minutes by cable car above the old town, is a popular excursion and walker's paradise.
With an attractive network of footpaths, cycling and mountain-biking trails, an 18-hole golf course and the Alpenerlebnisbad VAL BLU, Bludenz offers a diverse range of leisure pursuits.
