Duration: 3 hours

On Pentecost Monday, explore this special natural jewel in the municipality of St. Gerold.

Have you ever been on a biotope excursion? Together with experienced experts, you embark on a special kind of hike and discover the unique natural habitats close by. There, you can learn about the fascinating animal and plant world with many colorful, but also inconspicuous and hidden species.

Under the expert guidance of Monika Bischof, you have the opportunity on Pentecost Monday, May 25, 2026, to explore this special natural jewel in the municipality of St. Gerold: Not far from the Priory of St. Gerold, you can find species-rich types of meadows, including dry meadows. Herbs and early orchids can be found there in May. We will investigate what makes dry meadows one of the most species-rich habitats? Who lives in such a meadow and how this is related to gentle meadow management.

The biotope excursions are offered in cooperation with committed municipalities in Vorarlberg. Information on additional biotope excursions can be found in the event calendar at www.umweltv.at/veranstaltungen.
