On this varied day hike, we experience the impressive alpine plant world of the Großer Walsertal. Along the way, we discover typical mountain plants, learn about edible wild herbs, and gain insights into their traditional uses in cooking and home remedies. The tour offers plenty of time to observe, ask questions, and enjoy the unique nature.

From the meeting point in Buchboden, we will drive together to the hiking parking lot. From there, we hike along the Huttlabach stream up to the Rindereralpe. Afterwards, the path continues upward to the Wangspitze at 1,873 meters, where we are greeted with a magnificent view. The descent is via the Gadental, past the Matonaalpe and further to the Gadenalpe. To conclude comfortably, we will stop at Bad Rotenbrunnen before walking the last short distance back to the parking lot.

Throughout the entire route, we encounter a diverse alpine vegetation and repeatedly discover interesting herbs and plants along the wayside.

09:00 a.m., Buchboden Church (followed by a joint drive to the hiking parking lot)

Requirement: moderate to challenging mountain hike, good fitness required

Arrival by public transport: Country bus 570 to the Sonntag-Stein cable car, transfer at 8:50 a.m. to the call bus 571 to Buchboden Church – Attention, the call bus only operates on request (registration the day before by 8:00 p.m. or 1 hour before departure at T + 43 664 88 29 54 04)
