At Kirchplatz you can experience the special architecture of the Walser people up close. The architects Bruno Spagolla and Wolfgang Ritsch have created a perfect symbiosis between "old" and "new". At this place you will find the Parish Church of the Assumption which has been extended by Leo Kaufmann, the listed rectory, the old schoolhouse, an old Walser stable and an old Walser house.
The old schoolhouse was adapted inside to hold exhibitions and the old Walserhaus, which was provided by the Vorarlberg Illwerke company to the village of Brand, has been rebuilt here. The color of the wood indicates which parts of the original house were used and which ones had to be re-inserted. On the front side, a stage was created on which the Trachtenkapelle Brand plays their open-air concerts.
