Tips & Emergency Numbers

Marked Snow Shoe Trial

Our snowshoe tours are signposted with pink directional arrows and marker poles.

If there are no tracks (for example, in fresh snow) or in the case of insufficient knowledge of the area, we recommend participating in a guided snowshoe tour. Our experienced mountain guides will guide you safely through the winter landscape and have some adventurous stories in store.

We recommend courageous loners to pay attention to the weather report and avalanche warnings and equip themselves appropriately.

Explanation of Tour Descriptions

Difficulty

Easy: also suitable for beginners. The orientation is simple. Switchbacks are rarely required.
Medium: good condition and experience when attempting the track are required. You may need to cover longer sections with switchbacks.
Hard: only for experienced tour skiers. In certain sections make no slip-ups

Avalanche Danger

Low: mostly low hazard with appropriate route choice.
Middle: includes sections of track that on some days may have an unfavorable snow build up or strong sun be prepared to pull out of the trip early.
High: Tour may only be tackled in very safe conditions.

Of course, a careful as is assessment of current threat situation can not be replaced by these categories!

Respect Your Limits

Forests and meadows, rivers and lakes are valuable free time and recreational areas. Those who travel in the outdoors, should also remember that the outdoors is a highly sensitive habitat for plants and animals worthy of protection. Especially our forests which have a very important protective function. The Initiative Wohngemeinschaft Natur of the Vorarlberg state government informs residents and visitors about a respectful approach to nature. In this sense, we also ask you to respect protected and non-protected areas. Key recommendations: Stay on signposted trails and keep the outdoors clean.
