Lünersee is one of the most beautiful alpine lakes and a well-known destination beyond our borders. With the Lünerseebahn cable car, you can easily reach Lünersee lake within a 5-minute cable car ride. Alternatively you can reach the Lünersee on foot via the "Böser Tritt".
Hiking & mountaineering
Enthusiastic hikers and mountaineers will get their money's worth in the area around Lünersee. The round trip around Lünersee or the hut hike to the Totalphütte is very popular with families. Mountaineers come to the Schesaplana for the summit tour or for several days in the area around the Lünersee.
The area around Lünersee is also a paradise for hobby anglers. The fish stock in Lünersee consists of rainbow trout, brown trout, brook trout and char. A fishing day pass can be purchased at the top station of the Lünerseebahn (adults over 18 years, youth card from 12 years old and in the company of an adult).
Around the Lünersee, rock climbers and mountaineers attempt unique climbing routes. There is also a climbing garden with around 20 routes of medium difficulty, as well as a short but challenging practice via ferrata directly at the valley station of Lünerseebahn. Lünersee is also the starting point for one of the most beautiful via ferrate routes on the Saulakopf.
The state border between Vorarlberg and Switzerland runs over the summit of the Schesaplana. On the northern slope is the Brandner Glacier and at the eastern foot lies Lake Lünersee, one of the largest mountain lakes in Vorarlberg.
From the summit with the distinctive summit cross you have a breathtaking 360° panoramic view of the surrounding alps.
