Walserensemble

Walserensemble

At the Kirchplatz, you can experience the special Walser architecture up close here. The architects Bruno Spagolla and Wolfgang Ritsch have created a perfect symbiosis between "old" and "new".

For a long time Brand had no pronounced local or village center. Two, three partly publicly used houses next to the church formed a modest functional and spatial center. With the Walserensemble consisting of the old school house, Walserhus, vicarage and church, the old / new village center was made tangible and experienced again and will serve in the future as a meeting place. Since the establishment of the community center in the 1990s, the Mühledörfle has been able to establish itself as an economic center. Marked by tradition and modernity, the church square with the historic ensemble is the heart of the cultural center in Brand. Both the old schoolhouse and the church and vicarage are listed buildings. The "Walserhus" is not listed, but also appears in the list of the monument protection office.
