Bludenz days of Contemporary Music: Sophie Schafleitner & Krassimir Sterev

Nine musicians from six European countries connect different forms of contemporary art in their programs and concepts – from performance and dance to visual arts and literature. A special focus is placed on the integration of electronics into the ensemble's sound.
Like our guests from Vienna last year, the Black Page Orchestra, NAMES represents a new generation of ensembles, where members often compose themselves. As a result, their programs are characterized by a particularly authentic and adventurous sound poetics.
NAMES is already a regular guest at numerous national and international venues and festivals, including Wien Modern, aspekte Salzburg, Dialoge Festival, Mixtur Barcelona, Druskomanija Lithuania, Limina Festival, Daegu Contemporary Music Festival, Primavera Verona, the Schönberg Center Vienna, and A*Devantgarde Munich. In 2023, NAMES was awarded the ensemble promotion prize of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation. They will introduce themselves to the BTzM audience with works by Timea Urban, Peter Jakober, premieres of new compositions by Marko Döttlinger and Alexander Bauer, as well as a new ensemble piece by Margareta Ferek-Petric commissioned by BTzM 2026.
