Großes Walsertal Biosphere Reserve is characterized by its unique natural and cultural landscape. If you are looking for peace and quiet and want to escape everyday life, this is the place for you. Get out of the hustle and bustle and into the endless mountains of Großes Walsertal. Alone, between the impressive peaks. This is how you can really relax and switch off.

With the Walser Guides you will experience nature in a special way that so often doesn't exist anywhere else. The Walser Guides offer a high quality range and are all state-certified mountain and / or ski guides with a wealth of experience and excellent knowledge of the areas. So, what are you waiting for?

Please check the current Covid-19 regulations.

Ski touring basic course

On touring skis on the pristine deep snow slopes, explore lonely, snow-covered valleys and enjoy a unique descent after the summit success: These are experiences that are only possible outside the ski areas. However, in order to be able to travel safely in open terrain, knowledge and experience in this complex topic are necessary. In these two course days you will learn the basics of ski mountaineering in practice. From the necessary equipment, to the right lane system, the correct interpretation of the avalanche report, the use of safety equipment and behavior in emergency situations.

Costs: from 4 people each € 200.00
Note: details and booking on www.walserguides.at

The right technology for the terrain

With the right technique, freeriding is fun even in difficult snow conditions. On these two days you will expand your skiing skills in deep snow. The state-certified ski instructors and ski guides help you with individual tips and exercises to improve your skiing technique. The Sonntag-Stein ski area is the perfect place for freeriding: the varied northern slopes of the Glattmar and the Gronggenkopf offer many downhill options in deep snow. Perfect your technique there and on the perfectly groomed slopes.

Costs: from 4 people each € 200.00

Ski touring update

Who doesn’t know that, you’re on a fantastic ski tour, you see a slope that has not been used and you’re asking yourself questions like how "Is this slope dangerous or not?" Or "What does» STOP OR GO «say at 35 ° and avalanche warning level 3?". On this packed day, we will bring you up to date with everything related to snow and avalanche knowledge, avalanche reports, risk assessments and rescue of companions. We are out and about and practice in practice, look into the snow cover and analyze different slopes, downhill and ascent routes. You will also find out what the rapidly growing market in this area is in terms of safety equipment and aids has to offer which products are interesting and useful and how they are used.

Freeridecamp für teenagers

Skiing is more fun in powder than on the slopes. But the danger of avalanches is particularly high where there are still no tracks. This two-day course is aimed specifically at young people between the ages of 15 and 20 who like to ski next to the slopes. During the day we are on the road, you will learn to assess the dangers off-piste, how to use the avalanche search device, probe and shovel correctly and improve your skiing technique in deep snow. In the evenings we discuss the avalanche report and you will learn everything about snow cover and avalanche knowledge.

Costs: from 5 people each € 170.00
Note: details and booking on www.walserguides.at
