Ski area Sonnenkopf in the Klostertal

Sonnenkopf ski area is family friendly and suitable for beginners and intermediates happy skiing a smaller ski area with quiet open slopes; but it can also be good for experienced powder hounds using Klostertal as a low cost base from which to explore the entire Arlberg ski area.
The Sonnenkopf ski area, up to 2,300m, is served by nine ski lifts with 31 km of marked runs best for beginners and intermediates, 1,200m vertical top to bottom skiing and including interesting off-piste. The black run, 1,5 km, with a gradient of 70% which is part of the steepest slopes in Austria is available for expert skiers and snow boarders.
Magnificent powder runs await freeriders at Sonnenkopf. In addition to a number of demanding tours, freeriders with experience in open terrain may use the three-km long off-piste run down to Nenzigasttal. The ski school in Klostertal runs courses, including freestyle and snowboarding classes.
