UNESCO biosphere reserve Großes Walsertal

Living in harmony with nature

The Große Walsertal in Vorarlberg is a UNESCO-recognized biosphere reserve. The region was included by UNESCO on 10/11/2000 in the list of model global regions for sustainable livelihoods and economies.

In a biosphere reserve, humans and nature should interact with each other and only positively complement the other. Using nature without harming is the motto of a biosphere reserve.

Environment forms: In addition to the biosphärenpark.haus as a hub for sustainable development and information in the valley, countless exhibitions, initiatives and excursions are offered: From biotope excursions, an inatura Science Café, to the Vorarlberg Environment Week, to a mountain forest project of the Alpine Club Academy.
