Experience bees’ exhibition

‘Will it be with bees and sheep, lie down and sleep!’ This saying, which used to be common in the Klostertal valley, expresses the tradition of beekeeping. A beekeeping association was founded in Dalaas-Wald as early as 1884. It is now called the Inneres Klostertal-Arlberg Beekeeping Association and is celebrating its 140th anniversary this year. The association was incorporated into the Central Association for Beekeeping in Austria in 1902. Important functionaries in the early days of the organisation were teacher Augustin Salzgeber from Wald, priest Franz Josef Nägele from Dalaas and Georg Türk, who later became head of the railway station.
