You have a look into the Kessenaschlucht (natural monument) and hike on to the Bschisaboda maize field. After approx. 2 hours you reach a frozen waterfall, the Plattenbach at 1150 m. After another 30 minutes hike we reach our destination, the Heimenwaldalpe at 1250 m where you can enjoy a longer break in the high alpine landscape. This tour is only carried out when the snow conditions are safe (avalanche conditions).
From the church Buchboden you walk along the road, slightly ascending, past various corn fields until you reach the alp Unter-Überluth at 1360m after 2.5 hours. From here you have a wonderful view of the high alpine landscape of the core zone Gadental as well as of the valley. This tour is only carried out in safe snow conditions (avalanche conditions).

Walking time / altitude difference: ascent 400 m, distance 10 km, duration: incl. break approx. 5 hours
Required equipment: Small rucksack with (warm) drink, warm winter clothing as well as hat and gloves, mountain boots or fixed winter boots, ski or hiking poles and gaiters (if available), sunglasses and sun cream.
Costs: free for guests from BERGaktiv member companies, otherwise € 16,-- p.p., children/young people from 12-15 years take part in the hike free of charge. Rental equipment € 17,-- p.p.
