If we understand nature as a great teacher, it can tell us a lot about ourselves and about life. It speaks to you through plants and animals, through the seasons and their qualities. She teaches you through her rhythms of the day, the polarities of blossoming and dying, the twilight hours when one order of dominion gives way to another.

The medicine wheel (ring of the year - cycle of the year - ring of life) is an ancient symbol that seeks to introduce us to the fundamental order through its directions. In ancient cultures and tribal peoples it was seen as an important and helpful sign for orientation. Today we know that it acts as an inner diagnostic wheel within our own psyche. Working with the Medicine Wheel aims to take us deeper into ourselves and bring clarity to our inner emotional world. In order to do this, we need to understand the qualities of its directions as they have been handed down to us through the ages, and as they correspond today to the categorisations of C.G. Jung's depth psychology.
