BERGaktiv Snowshoe hike from Buchboden to Heimenwaldalpe or Unter-Überluth

Depending on the weather, snow conditions and avalanche danger level, the more challenging snowshoe hike leads to alpine areas in Sonntag or Buchboden. A good level of fitness and, if possible, some experience of walking with snowshoes is required.

Variant Unter-Überluth:
From the church in Buchboden, we hike along the goods road, always slightly uphill, past various corn fields until we reach the Alpe Unter-Überluth at 1360m after approx. 2 ½ hours. From here we have a marvellous view of the high alpine landscape of the Gadental core zone and out into the valley.

This tour is only organised in safe snow conditions (avalanche conditions).
Route: Descent as ascent Route changes or cancellations due to avalanche danger are reserved by the hiking guides!

Walking time/altitude difference: ascent 460 metres, distance 8.5 km
Duration: incl. break approx. 5 h

Equipment required:
o Backbwith (warm) drink and a snack
o Warm winter clothing, hat and gloves
o sturdy mountain boots
o Ski or hiking poles and gaiters, if available
o Sunglasses and cream

Equipment hire: snowshoes | poles | avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe if required. Rental equipment must be ordered when registering for the hike!

Price: EUR 17.00 per person aged 15 and over; participation in the hike is free of charge for guests of BERGaktiv member companies. Excluding cable car, bus rides and snacks. Total rental equipment EUR 18.00.
