BERGaktiv anniversary hike to the biosphere park core zone Gadental
European nature reserve Gadental The heart of the biosphere park
This hike takes you into the untouched nature of the Gadental. From the Bad Rothenbrunnen car park, the trail winds through unspoilt woodland on a gentle gradient to the Gadenalpe at 1,317 m. You will discover the wonderful natural diversity of the valley with its rare spiral forests and many alpine flowers. After a pleasant rest on the alp, which lies picturesquely in a valley basin, you will learn interesting facts about the natural development of the forest on the way back. Shortly before stopping at the Alpengasthof Bad Rothenbrunnen, you will taste the iron-rich medicinal spring that gave the spa house, built in 1834, its name. After this hike you will know why this special valley has been designated as a Biosphere Park Core Zone and European Nature Reserve and was voted "Vorarlberg's most beautiful place" in 2016!
