Tips and Emergency Contacts

Stay safe while riding your bike through Klostertal

Mountain bike routes lead into a terrain in which special demands are placed on the personal responsibility of mountain bikers. Therefore it is important to follow certain rules of conduct to avoid confrontation and to ensure your own safety.

These include above all:

  • Responsible driving with controlled speed and in half view.
  • Always be prepared for obstacles, especially when cornering! (Stones, branches, road damage, stored timber, grazing livestock, vehicles, roadblocks, etc.)
  • Hikers and pedestrians have priority. Careful overtaking only at walking speed.
  • Agricultural and forestry management have priority on the approved routes. Pasture gates have to be closed again, temporary roadblocks need to be respected.
  • Do not leave the prescribed and signposted routes. Natural and wildlife habitats should be spared.
  • A good tour planning takes the level of difficulty of the track and your own ability into account. This includes helmet, protective gear and a technically perfect mountain bike.
