The Lünerseebahn is an aerial tramway and connects the valley station at the end of the Brandnertal valley to the summit station at the dam of the Lünersee. After approx. just 6 minutes, you reach the pearl of the Alps, Lünersee, at approx. 1,970 m above sea level. It is one of the largest mountain lakes in Vorarlberg and also the largest reservoir for power generation. At the time of its commissioning in 1958, the Lünerseewerk was the most powerful pumped storage power station in the world. The Lünersee is approx. 112 hectares and has a maximum filling volume of 78.3 million m³.
