The Kunsthaus Bregenz (KUB) is an internationally active exhibition house for contemporary art. It was designed by the Swiss architect Peter Zumthor on behalf of the Vorarlberg region and built between 1990 and 1997. Today, thanks to its ambitious exhibition programme, the KUB is one of the world's leading museums. Architect Peter Zumthor won the Mies van der Rohe Award for European Architecture with Kunsthaus Bregenz in 1998. In 2009 he was honoured with the Pritzker Prize, the most important award for architects.
Throughout the year, Kunsthaus Bregenz presents temporary exhibitions that are created especially for the building and are only possible in this form in Bregenz.
