The border to Switzerland during the Nazi era
Panel discussion with Alfons Dür, Friedrich Juen, Michael Kasper and Stefan Keller

Vorarlberg's history during the Nazi era was not least shaped by the geographical situation of the border with Switzerland. After March 1938 there were attempts by Jews to flee to Switzerland, where stories of successes and failures are documented. Refugees on both sides helped, even if they endangered themselves. The best known of them is certainly the St. Gallen police commander Paul Grüninger. In recent years, numerous research projects have comprehensively documented escape stories in the Montafon and Rhine valleys. They will be discussed in a panel discussion.

DiskursDirekt is a cooperation with the Volkshochschule Bludenz and this lecture is sponsored by the Arbeiterkammer Vorarlberg.
