150 years ago, in 1872, together with the k. k. privileged Vorarlberg railway, Bludenz station was built. The new railway line connected the city in southern Vorarlberg with the other Vorarlberg cities and southern Germany as well as Switzerland. The opening of the Arlberg Railway in 1884 paved the way to the east to the other areas of the Danube Monarchy. Economic and social life in the city changed fundamentally as a result of the railway. Characterized by its social structure, Bludenz was considered a railway town for many decades. The history of the railway in Bludenz, the chronology of the station and the social and economic impact are the focus of the summer exhibition of the city of Bludenz. The currently valid Corona guidelines apply.
