Piano recital Laurah Maddalena Kasemann

This is how Robert Schumann once described the activity of a musician, and this is also the motto of the evening of the piano recital by Laurah Maddalena Kasemann on 14 May at 18:00 in the Remise. With Franz Schubert's A minor Sonata D.845 and the 1st volume of Robert Schumann's Fantasiestücke op. 12, the pianist presents two of the greatest Romantic composers of the 19th century. In both works, the melancholy that characterised the lives of both composers, who suffered from syphilis, comes to the fore on the one hand, and on the other hand, the hope and peace that they found for themselves in music. A multi-faceted piano recital for music lovers of all ages.

Laurah Maddalena Kasemann was born on 26 September 2000 in Germany, the first of six children, and grew up in Feldkirch, Austria. She received her first lessons at the age of seven, privately with a teacher in Feldkirch, where she was taught regularly until she transferred to the Vorarlberg State Conservatory. From 2014 - 2020, she completed the basic artistic studies there with Benjamin Engeli as her main subject, piano. Since autumn 2020 she has been studying at the Zurich University of the Arts with Eckart Heiligers.
Laurah Maddalena Kasemann is a multiple prize winner of the Austrian Youth Music Competition Prima la Musica, where she also received additional special prizes. In addition to her solo activities (for the Chopin Society, Villa Falkenhorst, Long Night of Music Friedrichshafen, etc.), she is regularly active as a piano duo. The young pianist has already participated twice in the International Summer Academy in Sigişhoara, Romania and in the International Chamber Music and Master Class Days Irdning. She received lessons from Tobias Schabenberger, Anton Kernjak, Gerardo Vila as well as Vladimir Lakatos and Anamaria Bodoky-Krause, among others. In January 2020, she won the audition of the Vorarlberg State Conservatory for the Young Soloists' Festival Concert with a piano trio and thus received the right to perform as a soloist with the Conservatory's symphony orchestra.
