The Council of Constance ended 600 years ago, during which the Habsburg Duke Frederick IV of Austria, King and later Emperor Siegmund, was ostracized. He was thus relieved of his offices, his lands were taken from him and he was declared outlawed. Although it was a punishable act, the citizens of Bludenz welcomed him hospitably, fed him with meat and drink and accompanied him through enemy land to his safe home in Tyrol. When around 1420 "Friedel mit der emperen Taschen" was pardoned by the emperor and again in office and dignity, he replaced the deceased sovereign of Bludenz, the Count Albrecht IV of Werdenberg and thanked the Bludenzers by extending the privileges of the citizens.
During this guided tour they will learn about the exact circumstances of these historical events, and the participants will be fed in the same way as the Duke in Bludenz once was.
