For this year's program, the exceptional pianist Peter Madsen from New York and the singer Veronika Morscher, who was awarded the Vorarlberg Culture Prize, won two masters of their field for a unique concert experience. The internationally active pianist Madsen is an indispensable player in the Vorarlberg jazz scene. He played and toured with Stan Getz, Benny Golson, Stanley Turrentine, Fred Wesley, to name a few. Madsen has already written 350 compositions, more than 100 of which have been recorded on CD. He is the director and founder of the CIA (Collective of Improvising Artists) and artistic director of the International World Jazz Festival.

Despite her young age, Veronika Morscher from Lauterach can already point to an exciting and steep career. In 2007 Morscher was one of the winners of the Marianne Mendt Jazz Festival in St. Pölten. After singing lessons with Aja Zischg at the Dornbirn jazz seminar, she moved to Boston to study jazz singing at the renowned Berklee College of Music. She was the first soprano of the Federal Youth Jazz Orchestra and is a co-founder of the internationally active quartet "Of Cabbages and Kings". Veronika Morscher received the “Cultural Prize Vorarlberg” in the Jazz category in 2017, as well as the “Recognition Prize” for her composition. Morscher lives and works in Cologne. Look forward to a unique musical evening with the Bludenz Big Band Union and their special guests Peter Madsen and Veronika Morscher.
