37. ALPINALE Kurzfilmestival in Bludenz

Foundation of the ALPINALE in the Alpine town of Bludenz:
In 1985, the ALPINALE was founded in Bludenz by Günther J. Wolf and Otmar Rützler.
The Golden Unicorn, the prize of the ALPINALE, is derived from the heraldic animal of the town of Bludenz.

In 2002/03 the Alpinale moved to Nenzing with continuous expansion of the content (including a separate category for Vorarlberg short film productions, expansion of the children's and youth programme with workshops, positioning as a short film festival).
At the end of 2008 Manuela Mylonas takes over the ALPINALE as chairman and festival director.
2010: Start of the ALPINALE Ländle Tour with alternating stops in all Vorarlberg districts, in the meantime the format also expands to Vienna and Switzerland.
2010: Launch of the ALPINALE Vorarlberg Short Film Night.
2018: 1st Obacht! Horror Short Film Night at the Remise Bludenz
2020: Return of the ALPINALE to Bludenz from 11 to 15 August 2020
