Basic Ski Touring Course on request
Who doesn’t know this, you are on a dreamy ski tour, see an untouched slope and ask yourself questions like "Is this slope dangerous or not?" or "What does 'STOP OR GO' mean at 35° and avalanche warning level 3?".
On this action-packed day, we’ll bring you up to speed on snow science, avalanche knowledge, avalanche reports, risk assessment, and companion rescue.
We will be outdoors practicing, examining the snowpack, and analyzing various slopes, descent, and ascent routes. Furthermore, we will deal with the avalanche report, tour planning, and the theory of snow and avalanche science.
You will also learn what the fast-growing market in this area offers in terms of safety equipment and tools, which products are interesting and sensible, and how to use them.
Requirements
Experience in the areas of ski touring, snow & avalanche science
Descents in easy terrain off the piste are quite feasible
Fitness for short ascents with touring skis (up to 300 meters in elevation)
This intensive day is aimed at ski tourers who want toupdate their knowledge in the area of "snow & avalanche science" and also learn more about the technical innovations in ski touring.

Sign up conditionally, and if we do not have any other participants for your date yet, we will take care of it. If the tour does not take place, you will not incur any costs.

Hint / Advice

We conclude each day in a cozy mountain hut in the ski area - the best opportunity to enjoy a traditional Walser meal before the last descent and heading home. Up on the mountain, after an eventful day in the snow, the food tastes especially good!
We organize this course in cooperation with the Alpenverein Vorarlberg. If a date is already fully booked here, there may still be available spots on the Alpenverein's website.
