Basic Ski Touring Course on request

Sunday 9:00 o'clock
Duration: 1 day
With a ski guide from the Walser Guides, we will go to one of the beautiful ski tour peaks in the Große Walsertal.

On a fixed date , we head out with a ski guide from the Walser Guides to one of the beautiful ski touring peaks in the Großer Walsertal. A few days before the tour, we decide on a mountain - depending on the snow conditions and the weather.

The chosen ski tour has about 1,000 vertical meters, with a few switchbacks needed during the ascent, and we encounter slopes with about 30° steepness on the descent. We start in the morning and are out for 5 to 7 hours.

The selection of destinations is large. A few of the possible destinations are:

Zafernhorn (2,107 m): Located above Faschina, the Zafernhorn is a fantastic ski touring mountain of medium difficulty. After the first altitude meters in the forest, we reach the wide treeless southern slopes, which we cross towards the east. On the last 200 vertical meters, things get serious again, and then the mountain rewards us with a grand descent. [750 vertical meters]

Kunkelkopf (2,100 m): With the impressive south face of Zitterklapfen to our left, we head towards this lonely ski touring peak east of Buchboden. The route takes us past the Alps with the sonorous names "Unter Überlut" and "Ober Überlut". [1,100 vertical meters]

Wangspitze (1,873 m) Starting from Buchboden, we initially walk through the forest past the Bad Rothenbrunnen to the Madonaalpe. From there, it steeply ascends to the col, and then along a ridge to this solitary peak. [1,050 vertical meters]

Lusgrind (2,286 m): Next to the queen of the valley, the Rote Wand, this mountain lies in one of the most impressive landscapes of the country. We start in the ski area Sonntag-Stein, climbing over the Garmil and Laguzalpe to the 2,286 m high summit. There, we decide which of the many descent options we will choose. [approx. 1,150 vertical meters]
